'Fantastic!'
'Awesome EP'
'Huge tracks - thanks!'

The latest EP from Bristol-based producer [sic] - Fallen Idols EP - aims to tell the story of two very different characters: Icarus and Deadalus.

Icarus is undoubtedly the heavier of the two tracks, with its pounding intro rhythms leading up to an huge baseline lead the twists and squelches with impudence, much like Icarus as he dared to test his wings against the power of the sun. There’s some mid-section reprieve in the form of soft angelic voices that gently disintegrate before we’re slapped in the face again with Icarus’s motif. Definitely a peak-time heavyweight to get the dance floor rocking.

Deadalus, father of Icarus and inventor of said wings is, by contrast, a more measured and mature flavour. Softer in texture yet with a strong rolling groove, the tune builds to an infectious, squelching 303-tinged melody with supporting bubbling bass tones and a whomping great bass drop at the start of each 4/4 measure. The tension continues to build to the breakdown as we hear Deadalus’ motif rise higher and higher as he aims to reach for Icarus and the deadly warm glow of the sun.

Support from Gene Farris, Paco Osuna, Joseph Capriati, Chris Fortier, Anthony Pappa, Anderson Noise and more.
